Apollo Group Employee Application – Western International University

WIU Welcomes Apollo Group Employees!

Western International University (WIU) welcomes employees of Apollo Group and its affiliate companies, their spouses, and dependents! This page provides a detailed description of your enrollment process to get you started on achieving your educational goals.

Once you have submitted all of the required forms, please allow 3-4 weeks prior to your anticipated start date to complete the admissions process, move you to student status, and schedule you for your first course.

Please Note: Registration closes on the 25th day of the month prior to the start month for new students taking their first course. Please submit your completed forms as early as possible to allow sufficient time for processing.

You can now proceed to step 2; however, to expedite processing once your Tuition Waiver is approved, please fax or email a screen shot of the approved Tuition Waiver to the Apollo Employee Enrollment Counselor using the contact information below. (Please note that the Tuition Waiver applies to tuition only and that you will be responsible for purchasing your textbooks and payment of all other fees.)
  2. Request Your Individual Record Number (IRN) – The student should email the Apollo Employee Enrollment Counselor to obtain an IRN, which is necessary to complete the online application for admission. • After completing your application, the system will send you a welcome email with additional information.
  1. Application FeeIf you have not previously attended an Apollo Group institution, you will need to pay your $25 application fee within 24–48 hours of completing your online application, so that you can be cleared to register for classes. Your official transcripts will be ordered and evaluated, and once you are officially admitted, your Academic Counselor will contact you to discuss your transfer credits and plan your degree program.
  6. The first three courses you will take are determined by your selected degree program, and will be scheduled for you by the Apollo Employee Enrollment Counselor. If you are entering a bachelor program and do not have an associate degree, your first class will be SSC 105, Student Success Course. If you are beginning a master program, your first class will be RES 600, Graduate Research Methods.
  • You may take just one course at a time until you are officially admitted to the University.
  • You will be notified of any course or time changes from the published course schedule.
  • New courses begin the first week of each month, and meet weekly for 2 months. (Some courses may require a Saturday make-up class, depending on holiday schedules.)
  • Courses may be taken either online or oncampus. If you select an online course, you have the option of attending your live weekly online class session or viewing the recording of your class. Oncampus courses meet strictly oncampus and do not offer online class options.
  • Textbooks are usually required for each class; however, SSC 105 does not require a book.
