 G.I. Jobs Military Friendly School

Western International University (WIU) is proud to be designated as a Military Friendly School by G.I. Jobs magazine. This honor ranks WIU among the top 15% of all colleges, universities, and trade schools nationwide in terms of providing the best service and opportunities to embrace America's Military Servicemembers and Veterans as students. The Military Friendly Schools list was compiled through exhaustive research of more than 7,000 schools, considering criteria such as efforts to recruit and retain Military and Veteran students and additional benefits offered, including credit for Military service, Military spouse programs, and more. Read on to find out more about why you should choose WIU as your university.

Welcome

Your service to our country is something we honor. And now that you’re considering a new career or furthering your Military career, Western International University (WIU) is here to help make it possible for you to complete your degree. We are a Military Friendly School in the truest sense, and we are proud of the features that make us such:

  • Tuition Discounts — We offer tuition discounts for Active Duty Servicemembers, Active Duty Spouses, and Veterans. We'll even guide you in applying for your Military Tuition Assistance or Veterans Education Benefits. Your Enrollment and Finance Counselors will provide you with personal attention and information based on your specific circumstances.
  • Flexibility — Your country, your family, your career, your life…there’s a lot on your plate. Plus, your assignments often take you to new locations, so our programs maintain the continuity of your education and your learning community. You can attend class at any of our four Arizona campus locations, with WIU Interactive OnlineSM, or both. With WIU Interactive Online, you can attend class live with your instructor and classmates from wherever your Internet connection takes you, or view your recorded class any time during the week.
  • Credit Transfer Potential — WIU participates in the Servicemembers Opportunity Colleges (SOC) consortium, and we also work with Military students to grant transfer credit from the various Service schoolhouses (like the Community College of the Air Force [CCAF]) as well as other sources (CLEP, DANTES, and even Military experience credit). Learn more about the potential to gain transfer credit for your training and experience by visiting our U.S. Military Experience page. Of course, your Enrollment and Academic Counselors will guide you through the process and help you determine your full credit transfer potential.
  • Getting Started is Easy — At WIU, we do not require any kind of admissions testing or placement, and we give you the ability to start classes every month. These features complement the flexible, online nature of WIU’s programs.
  • Individual Learning — WIU programs do not require learning teams. This means you work independently, an approach that is ideal for the highly-mobile nature of the Military community and is sensitive to your Operations Tempo.
  • Military Brochure — Illustrates our Military Friendliness and provides you with detailed information about our school and our many programs.

The Next Step on Your Career Path: The Right Degree

Education has never been more important both to a Military career and to your post-Military civilian career. The Military has linked education to its various service promotion systems, and in turn it has provided Military Servicemembers with the benefits they need to make their goals a reality. Whether the Military is your career path, or your Military experience will lead you to an exciting new civilian career, earning your degree from WIU will impact the level of success you can achieve.

WIU offers a variety of challenging degree programs (associate through master degrees and post-bachelor certificate) that are ideally suited to our Servicemember students. Perhaps you are a member of the USAF Security Forces, the Army Military Police, or the Navy Shore Patrol and you are looking for a bachelor degree in Criminal Behavior or Legal Studies? Whatever your career goals may be, WIU has a program just for you.
