Possible Accommodations
Eligibility for accommodations is determined on a case-by-case basis. Appropriate supporting medical documentation and recommendations from a qualified professional are required.
Accommodations are available for qualifying students who suffer from a temporary or permanent health situation that makes them eligible for assistance. Please note that not all accommodations are available at every campus or for every mode of study. The Disability Services Office will discuss reasonable accommodations based on each individual situation. The following lists are not all-inclusive, but offer insight into what types of accommodations might be available, and which temporary or permanent health situations qualify for accommodations..
- Additional time for individual assignments or tests
- Screen-reading software
- Typing software
- Printed materials
- Sign language interpreters
- Note takers
Temporary Health Situations
Students experiencing a temporary health situation, such as a broken bone, surgery complications, emergency hospitalization, or pregnancy complications, may apply for accommodations through the Disability Services Office if the condition limits their ability to perform their schoolwork.
Permanent Health Situations
Students experiencing a permanent health condition such as deafness, blindness, low vision, learning disabilities, cancer, fibromyalgia, emotional or mental health issues, or ADD/ADHD may apply for accommodations through the Disability Services Office if the condition limits their ability to perform their schoolwork.
