"I feel a degree from WIU will make me more marketable. With all of the changes taking place, I feel the education I receive should be from a more global perspective, and I receive that here. My academic advisors are fabulous. They give me lots of direction on classes to take and are supportive to my needs. My instructors are great, too. One instructor in particular, Gwen Parks who is an attorney, really delved into critical thinking and using our power of reasoning. I chose WIU because of the atmosphere, the location and the degree programs. I attended community colleges previously, but WIU meets my needs better and class one night a week is better for my schedule. I really like my current career path but don’t want to be limited on promotional opportunities because of my educational qualifications. That’s why having a degree is important, and I most definitely recommend WIU to others."
