It’s not like other online programs that rely on regular email only. It’s live, it’s recorded, it’s whatever works best for you! Every class session, it’s your choice. And you still have the convenience of time and place that you’ve come to expect in online education.

Learning comes from interaction. With WIU Interactive Online, each week you have the choice to attend your class sessions live via your computer, or by listening to the recorded class sessions, or a combination of both. No matter what your choice is you will be connected to your instructor and fellow students for your best possible learning environment. You will hear lectures, see videos, watch PowerPoint demonstrations – even pass notes! Unlike tedious text-based online courses offered at other universities, WIU connects you to a virtual classroom.

Interaction from anywhere.

Follow along as the instructor presents class material specifically designed for online delivery.  You’ll see slide presentations, hear the instructors lecture, and participate in discussions with your fellow students, either live or through the discussion forum.  What’s more, even when you choose to attend a live class, you can access a recording of that class at your convenience anytime during that week, and for up to eight additional weeks to help you study.

By registering for a WIU Interactive Online course, the student agrees to permit WIU and its designated representative (e.g. faculty) to share his/her email address with students in this course during the period of the course.  Please contact the Registrar’s Office if you make changes in your address, phone number and email address.  

Each course schedule will include nine live (online) sessions. Classes are available at 4:00 PM, 6:00 PM, and 8:00 PM.

1. Please find the computer requirements that you need in order to take an online course.
2. To login to your class, see the Beginning WIU Interactive Online page.
3. Make sure to order your textbooks one week prior to your class start.
