Admission Requirements
Domestic Students
To apply for admission to a WIU undergraduate program, you must:
- Complete and sign your undergraduate application, listing all schools
attended
- Pay your application fees
- Have earned a high school diploma or equivalent from a school that is
regionally accredited or state licensed (Graduation from an associate degree
program from a U.S. community college may be accepted in lieu of high school
completion)
- Have a 2.50 high school GPA if you completed less than 12 college level
semester credit hours OR a cumulative 2.00 college GPA if you have 12 or
more college level semester credit hours
- Submit official transcripts and test scores from all regionally accredited
institutions

International Students
If you are an international student applying to an undergraduate program, you
must:
- Complete and sign your undergraduate application, listing all schools
attended
- Pay your application fees
- Have earned a higher secondary school diploma or equivalent from a
recognized school or agency (Graduates of an associate degree program from a
U.S. community college may be accepted in lieu of high school completion)
- Have the equivalent of a 2.50 if you have completed less than 12 college
level semester credit hours OR a cumulative 2.00 college GPA if you have 12
or more college level semester credit hours
- Submit marks, transcripts, examination scores, and certificates from all
institutions attended (Certified translations may be required)
- Show English proficiency
WIU reserves the right to require a formal credential evaluation from an
approved evaluations service.
